Ctrl Z

Control Z: My Personal Brand Story

After eight years in design, I've hit Ctrl+Z countless times—it's become this automatic reflex whenever I make a mistake. But I started thinking about how we can't do that in real life, and that contrast really stuck with me. When developing my personal brand, "Control Z" felt perfect because it captures this dual meaning I love. Obviously there's the design connection every designer knows, but there's also this personal layer: it's controlled by Z - Zvina. It became my way of claiming ownership of my work and process.

The logo came from literally looking down at my Mac keyboard and noticing how far apart Ctrl and Z actually are—your hand has to stretch across to make that connection. That physical gesture we do all the time became the visual concept. The connecting line isn't just decorative; it's the "l" from "Ctrl" reaching over to find "Z," representing that same movement I make probably too many times a day. I kept the design clean and minimal because that's how I work—purposeful, not overthinking it. Control Z became my way of saying that while we can perfect our digital work through endless undos, in real life and client relationships, we need to get it right the first time.
