Creating the Ipoh Street brand was all about capturing the soul of authentic Malaysian street food culture while making it feel perfectly at home in Melbourne's vibrant food scene. I drew inspiration from the iconic red lanterns that line the famous streets of Ipoh, using them as the central visual element to create this warm, inviting brand that immediately transports you to those bustling night markets. The earthy color palette and blend of traditional Chinese characters with clean, modern English typography reflects exactly what this restaurant is—a beautiful fusion that honors cultural heritage while feeling completely contemporary and accessible. I wanted every touchpoint, from the menu to the takeaway packaging, to feel like a little celebration of Malaysian street food tradition, because I believe great restaurant branding should make you hungry before you even see the food.
